Time is the only reliable way of gauging things past; indeed it is nothing but a disquiet of the soul.
Time's passing makes me an expert in nothing. _________________ Time is nothing but a disquiet of the soul |

It Isn't Time That's Passing by by Ruskin Bond
Remember the long ago when we lay together
In a pain of tenderness and counted
Our dreams: long summer afternoons
When the whistling-thrush released
A deep sweet secret on the trembling air;
Blackbird on the wing, bird of the forest shadows,
Black rose in the long ago summer,
This was your song:
It isn't time that's passing by,
It is you and I. _________________ Time is nothing but a disquiet of the soul |

I haven't read any poem of Ruskin Bond.
I didn't know him. So I google
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruskin_Bond
The poem has a very soft voice and sadness.
It isn't time that's passing by,
It is you and I.
I do agree . . . _________________ ---------------------

Waiting
For the bygones
Time
Passing me by |
Is it time to move on? The letting of bygones be bygones is good common sense.
I'm not gonna wait till the storm's gone
got the wind in our sails and we're moving along
we're making it up as we go along, making it up as we go along
feels good when we turn around
waving goodbye to our bygones

It reads like depressing notes from the basement of one's "house of being". |

Yes, he is good at convoying emotions out of simplicity, nostalgia and yearning for old friends.
In his statement in the introduction to Time Stops at Shamli and Other Stories – For It isn't time that's passing by, my friend; It is you and I” – gives a hint that timelessness does not mean “time stops,” as it does in Shamli, but that it is part of the eternal scheme of things, where the physical time is irreverent. _________________ Time is nothing but a disquiet of the soul |

It's depressingly honest.
Time brings all things to pass. _________________ If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all. |
