Gruntles and Gripes of a Married Man
You, you, and you
I've slept for two decades --
just this feeling left
I, I, and I
the only man you've loved --
nothing much has changed |

Imaging the Past
The further the past recedes, the closer it becomes. Images fixed on the screen, stored in archives, and reproduced on the pages, render the past ever-present. Gradually, but relentlessly these images have begun to supersede memory and experience.
Note:
Imaging the Past is not my original work, and it's a "rewrite," or sort of a one-paragraph summary, of an article about the impact of images on shaping and re-shaping the understanding of History in our technology-advanced society. |

English Translation
I Blinked My Eyes
--During those mistaken years I had this "illusion"
I firmly believed.
I stared steadily.
A Rainbow
swam in a fountain,
gently surveying the passers-by.
I blinked my eyes --
it turned into a ring of snakes.
A clock
perched in a church
calmly ticking the hours.
I blinked my eyes --
it turned into a deep well.
A red blossom
burst on the silver screen
excitedly welcoming the spring wind.
I blinked my eyes --
it turned into a pool of blood.
Now trying to keep my beliefs solid,
My eyes wide stay open all the time. |

What’s the Point?
"Are you scared?”
"What should I be scared of? The only thing to be scared of is tomorrow. And I don’t live for tomorrow.”
"But, you just saw John jump off the windowa few hours ago.”
"John was a friend of mine. It was not a pleasant thing to see. John’s problem was he didn't like being John Lewis, the world's third richest man and chairman of MicroWorld One. From time to time, he’d look in the mirror and ask, ‘What’s the point?’ I never do that. A question like that will kill you.”
"A question like that will kill you? What’s your point?” |

Poem Text of When You Are Old by W. B. Yeats
WHEN you are old and grey and full of sleep
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true;
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face.
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead,
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.
Chinese Translation
等到你年老時
等到你年老髮蒼,滿是睡意,
在爐火邊打盹,取下這本書,
慢慢閱讀,夢見你雙眸
昔日的柔和,和深邃的陰影;
多少人愛慕你的飛揚神采,
愛慕你的美麗,出自真情或假意,
但有一人愛慕你朝聖者的靈魂,
也愛慕你漸衰面容的憂戚;
俯身於炙熱的爐火栅欄旁,
你喃喃輕嘆:真愛已逃逸,
踱步於頭頂上的高山,
把他的臉埋藏於群星之間。 |

Someone who kills People
Someone who kills one person
is a murderer.
Someone who kills ten people
is touched by evil.
Someone who kills one hundred people
is unthinkably insane.
But, someone who kills a million people
is either a general or an IMF banker. |

Since Adam met Eve,
The dead alone enjoy peace.
Life is thawing snow. |
