| OT: There are some controversies over IBPC so far as I know. Some forums are enthusiastic; others pay not much attention; some even withdrew from it. It's nice to win, but the whole process is so subjective, especially with only one or two judges refereeing in each competition. Some winning poems are not highly taken by other member forums and are regarded as beginning level. You figure! |

Hi Lake,
You are right. Yes, two years ago, IBPC has united more than 16 poetry forums. Now a few quit for some confliction.
I like Penshells, write block. I don't have too much time to join other forums.
BTW, in my view, any contest has controversies. So the rule always is Judge holds the final decision. Even for poetry publishing, each editor has his own preference.
For me, if I like the poem, I read it more. If not, I will try to understand it.

I'm not against anything. In fact, there are some poems selected which are excellent. It is when the winners have grammar errors, unoriginal contents, cliched expressions, that's what irritates other writers. And some of them are even obvious.
I'd prefer a panel of judges in a competition to be fair. Oh, well, what do I know? |
