梦笔生花
----黄山一景



让云留下，
远远眺望
或萦绕
高挑的你，
群峰中，千百年执意
风雨不化的天石
擎着的仅有的笔，
一棵如你一样坚韧的松。

我自蜿蜒而下
成你脚下的山泉，
在你停笔休憩时，
轻奏你心深处的心声：
远近的你，
不需叹息，
每夜，我和着你开花的声音。。。

Leave clouds behind.
Gaze from a distance
or linger around the steep
tall one among the ranges.

Millions of years pass,
still you hold
a tenacious pine as your pen
which blooms like dreaming flowers,
in spite of storms and blizzards.

I yearn to become
a spring at your foot,
and when you stop,
I sotly tickling the depth
of your heart;
No matter how close
or far you are,
each night I echo
the sound of your blossoms.

One small thing I want to discuss with you is the title of your poem, The Dreaming Pen in Blossom.

Based on the Chinese title of your poem, 梦笔生花----黄山一景, 梦笔生花 is the name of one of iconic Huangshan peaks, which is literary idiom taken from The Chronicles of the Kaiyuan and Tienbao Ages regarding the famous poet Li Bai’s dream. 梦笔生花 Peak is the scenic embodiment of Li Bai’s dream in terms of the denotative understanding of it while your poem is the poetic manifestation in terms of the connotative understanding of it. However, for any one who is English-speaking and has no cultivation in the Chinese classics, the English title of your poem is mind-boggling. My suggestion is:

either 1) Transliteration of the Chinese title of your poem, Meng'Bi'Sheng'Hua Peak, and a brief introduction to the origin of idiom 梦笔生花.
or 2) Sense-for-sense translation (yiyi) of the Chinese title of your poem, The Peak called Dream of Flowers Blooming at the Writer's Pen-tip, a brief introduction to the origin of idiom 梦笔生花.

梦笔生花是位于黄山北海散花坞的一块奇石，山涧深谷一根崛起的擎天石柱，石柱下部直立部分圆滚修长，酷似笔杆，顶端如锥，好像毛笔尖，一石缝置于“笔杆”与“笔尖”之间更显得像一枝中国毛笔。一棵古松生长在石柱上面，盘旋曲折，绿荫一团，好像一朵鲜花开放在毛笔的顶端，似笔所生之花，因此人们称此石柱为“梦笔生花”。

相传唐代大诗人李白一天深夜在睡意朦胧中，一边吟诗，一边随风轻飏，来到了一座海上仙山，山在虚无缥缈之间。四周云海苍茫，奇峰耸峙，松石争奇，花木葱茏。李白被大自然的美景所陶醉，徘徊逗留，不忍离去。他登上一座山峰，欣赏着眼前瞬息万变的风光景色。

忽然之间，一支巨大的毛笔耸出云海，足有十多丈高，像一根玉柱一样。李白心想：“如果能得此巨笔，用大地作砚，蘸海水为墨，拿蓝天当纸，写尽人间美景，那该有多好。”就在他浮想联翩之时，忽然听见一阵悠扬悦耳的仙乐，并有五色光芒从笔端射出，接着在笔尖开放出一朵鲜艳的红花。李白目睹了这番奇迹之后，一首诗不禁脱口而出：“山涌玉毫架更奇，天公巧设是何时？若能借此生花笔，写尽人间万首诗。”

李白吟罢这首诗，没想到那支生花笔竟渐渐移动，朝着他飘然而来。李白眼看那支光芒四射的生花妙笔越来越近，便伸手去取，当快要摸到粗壮的笔杆时，不觉一惊而醒，原来是黄粱一梦。

李白梦醒之后，反复回想梦中情景，总是想不出在什么地方。他决心遍访名山大川，寻找梦中仙境。临行之前，李白作了这样一首七言绝句：“梦里奇峰放彩霞，天生玉笔绽鲜花。何当觅得此仙境？颐我诗情胜似家。”

后来，李白云游至黄山，当他游览北海散花坞时，一见这支生花巨笔，不觉失声大叫：“以前我梦中所见的生花巨笔，原来就在此地。”
