glad to receive an email that my haiku is scheduled to run online on Thursday or Friday on nytimes.com (Metro)…they have selected a few to run in Sunday's print edition of The Times (in the Metropolitan section), pending any breaking news. So just be on the lookout for the final selection.
I was invited back to present my Poetry Alive Education program as Poets in Schools for Francis Libermann School in Toronto on April 29. So I added the above news and contest to my presentation to challenge students to think about how to write haiku about New York…
I also added the Burlington Art Center’s Haiku Contest, so they might write some and submit before April 30….I hope in this way, Poetry become alive for students, and they will write their own and read more.
