The road is long and winding
Our steeds are quickly tired
But we need to hurry
To ride to the end

Horses fall
Panting heavily
They're too tired to ride
The road to nowhere

Our feet are sore
From all that walking
But we're nearly there
I can feel it coming

Blistered feet
From all that walking
But we're nearly there
The way is clear

We're here now
The water is glistening
The lake is clear
We're finally here

The water is cool
On our blistered feet
But we're finally here
It's the end of our fate

We've been together long
We've become closer
The journey was tiring
But we're the best of mates

We're finally here
Some lads stay no longer
But I'll live here
Untill my time is over

羡慕小小年纪就会写诗歌。小孩子写诗歌看起来那么容易，应该鼓励。从小培养起语感（诗歌的语言）、节奏感、音韵感，将来积累了丰富的人生经历，写起诗歌来将会得心应手。

这首诗有ballad的感觉。其中一些词语如 lad, mate 一下映入眼帘，我们这里现在较少使用（当然也有）。可能在Australia常用吧，我有朋友在那。

我这也有一首学生的诗，是在完成生物课作业后，为了得到 extra credit 即时写的。读了上面小朋友的诗，忍不住也贴出来。

Pond

In the pond there lives many things,
some have gills and some have wings.
There are bugs and fish and clams and snails,
but there definitely aren’t any sharks or whales!
They each produce, consume or decompose,
each has different ways in which they grow.
Some eat veggies, some eat meat and some eat both,
again, that’s just their own way of growth.
There are many different colors and a variety of size.
Many have abilities that are a real surprise,
swimming on their back and swimming on their side,
be careful of the ones that might jump out and fly!
Each is such a unique and interesting critter,
so we should protect them and get rid of the litter!
