The west wind by Tom Thomson, known as one of the most valuable paintings in Canada.
I just read stories of the painter Tom Thomson, a person with two different facets, interesting yet sad.

Dear Lake,
Reading Tom’s stories and the different facets people descript about him: a lonely person who loved outdoors life, a luxury person who enjoyed fine city life.
He was lucky to find freedom to purchase his passion: painting. But maybe also lonely in his edging life. He was died young with a mystery. His canoe was overturn and He drowned tragically in Canoe Lake, Algonquin Park in July 1917. Yet nobody knew exactly what happened to him.
“The west wind “according to other artists’ view, it was a great expression of spirit of Canadian people—to finally free of “the machinery of civilization”.
The two trees stand tall on the top of mountains to feel the west wind, wildly stretch and open its arms and embraced each other. Their top branches even stretch out of the painting frame itself… how huge freedom and boundless it is. And below are the spacious landscapes, wide lake and surrounding mountains… all natural and wild scenes with the wind to feel, to touch and the glory sky to boom
Reminding you, that time the whole generation was still in war depression, for healthy promotion, the outdoors life and returning to wildness was a kind of approach for healing.
The painting of “the west wind” brought back the powerful message of the natural forces and freedom of wildness.
