reading on the beach

a summer day
a serene beach
a young girl indulges in a book
her face hidden under a wide rim hat,
a fresh view of tanned skin breathing

in front of the picture
I watch and recognize my youth,
reading on and on;
soft breeze, warm sun,
quiet and lovely surroundings...

life, sometimes, in the blink of a moment,
was drawn away in a whirlwind...

soon, the girl disappears
to watch from the outside.

He suggested to try to look at paintings and tried to write anything I could...

So I tried a few and felt good.

I need to read my poems (Blue and Reading on the Beach) about the paintings in Nov 19 for a group of people and the artist.

But I think these two paintings are very bright and happy scenes. yet my poems depict them in a kind of sad way.

Do you think it will affect others' view? will it be a kind of discouragement for the artist and other people?

These paintings are very expensive... Is it OK I writing poems like this?

I think the subject matter of your poems is okay.

The purpose of a painting (or a poem) is to make the viewer think and question the interpretation. You have done this.

I brought my son to record it.
Since we are inside a big room, light is not very bright. so the record is not very good. hopefully it is ok. I will check it tonight.

The reading was good. I was a little shy.

I talked with the artist, he loved my poems. he gave all the permission of using his images.
