The Culture Division of Mississauga has received a request for me to do a reading at the Para-Pan Am Torch Relay event on Wednesday August 5th at Lakeside Park. So I wrote a new poem for the event: Light Through Fogs and will read there. Feel free to join us on August 5. See you there.

Join in the spirit of the TO2015 Parapan Am Games on August 5 at Lakeside Park as the Parapan Am Flame makes its way to Mississauga!

6 pm Free Community BBQ for the first 1,000 guests as we await the arrival of the Parapan Am flame to Mississauga.
7 pm Torch Lighting Ceremony to welcome the Parapan Am flame to the stage.
7:40 pm Torch Relay and Community Cauldron Lighting Ceremony - Watch as the Parapan Am flame makes its way around Lakeside Park and returns to the stage to ignite the community cauldron.
Unveiling of the Art of Sport – See the unveiling of three temporary public art installations along Mississauga’s Waterfront Trail!
7:45 pm Community Celebration ending the day with a Celtic performance by Steel City Rover.

Tomorrow there will be a wonderful event, the city will host it for the Para-Pan Am Torch Relay on Wednesday August 5th at Lakeside Park (2268 lakeshore rd west, Mississauga. I was invited to read my poem there as Mississauga's Inaugural Poet Laureate. There are also many other wonderful performers. Mine will be around 6:55 (2 minutes), before and after there will be a concert and city councillor's short speech. The first 500 guests will have a free gift and free BBQ. Hope to see you and your family. Please check the detail here:

光亮透过浓雾 -写给泛美残运会

有人说
这个世界由金钱来统治...
看 -
追随淘金者的长长的黑影，
烟雾浓浓自树林般的工厂里喷出，
股票屏幕后各种伎俩...
所有的都在尖叫：
出示钞票！

但这儿，在这个公平的运动世界里，
邪恶的游戏注定不会得逞，
圣洁的才能继续获得成功。

在这里，运动员骄傲地高举运动精神！
在这里，运动员高举火炬直至天空！
每一份努力明示纪律。
每一粒汗珠显示勤奋。
每一分奋斗力臻完美。
每一个劳累表现协作。

我们看到光亮透过浓雾和人性光芒闪亮。
我们听到响亮笑声和欢呼声连成一片。
让我们携带光亮更有力量。
让我们传播精神处处公平。

加油！运动员，加油！
看光亮透过浓雾！

看火炬在前燃烧！
