In response to ongoing sexism in the publishing community, 2014 was declared the Year of Reading Women. Let's continue the trend into 2015 and beyond.

Room has published fiction, poetry, essays, reviews, and art by women and genderqueer writers and artists on a quarterly basis since 1975. Past issues have included original work by Carol Shields, Eden Robinson, Marian Engel, Hiromi Goto, Kate Braid, Larissa Lai, Amber Dawn, Lorna Crozier, Ivan Coyote, Evelyn Lau, Shani Mootoo, and Elizabeth Hay, as well as interviews with Miriam Toews, Ursula K. Le Guin, Stacey McKenzie, and Eleanor Wachtel—among many others.

In 2015, we're thrilled to publish new work by Erín Moure, Eliza Robertson, Doretta Lau, M. NourbeSe Philip, Souvankham Thammavongsa, Anna Yin, Kate Braid, and many other established and emerging writers. Volume 38 will also include interviews with Carmen Rodríguez, Mariko and Jillian Tamaki, and Harsha Walia.
