What Money Cannot Buy?
For Bill Gates

It is true-
You possess many Windows,
each opens to a new season.

It is true-
You own a magnificent mansion
with glass ceilings and sliding doors
reacting Nature light…

It is true-
You hold millions of books
for your remarkable library-
each, according to Emily Dickinson,
no frigate takes us further.

And we think-
of course,
money can buy all.

Yet when Someone puzzles
why there isn't any poetry
on your shelves,
I must admit my sadness
and agree-

something
money cannot buy.
