I was asked by John.B.Lee to write a poem on the Beatles for an anthology. and I accepted and will do some research.
My facebook friends shared some suggestions:
Bruce Meyer All you need is love. Give them a listen too.
TheToronto Quarterly Don't forget...John was the walrus.
And here's another clue for you all/ the Walrus was Paul" from the song, Glass Onion by John Lennon hints at the true identity of the walrus, and of course, the man in the Walrus mask on the cover of Magical Mystery Tour is John, who also wrote, "I am the Walrus," a slightly surreal song based upon his love for the writing of a childhood hero, Lewis Carroll. Semalina Pilchard of the song is an allusion to policeman Pilchard who was targeting Rock stars for drug busts during the late eighties. Interesting to note three of the four Beatles were raised Roman Catholics and two of those three identified strongly with Ireland and their Irish roots. Both Lennon and McCartney would pen songs dedicated to an independent Ireland after the Beatles broke up. Paul's song, "Give Ireland Back to the Irish," and Lennon's song, a collaboration with Yoko appeared on his Sometime in New York City album. I. all good things, John B.

here are some songs by Beatles:
Glass Onion
I told you about strawberry fields,
You know the place where nothing is real
Well here's another place you can go
Where everthing flows.
Looking through the bent backed tulips
To see how the other half lives
Looking through a glass onion.
I told you about the walrus and me-man
You know that we're as close as can be-man.
Well here's another clue for you all,
The walrus was Paul.
Standing on the cast iron shore-yeah,
Lady Madonna trying to make ends meet-yeah.
Looking through a glass onion.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.
Looking through a glass onion.
I told you about the fool on the hill,
I tell you man he living there still.
Well here's another place you can be,
Listen to me.
Fixing a hole in the ocean
Trying to make a dove-tail joint-yeah
Looking through a glass onion

am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.
See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly.
I'm crying.
Sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come.
Corporation tee-shirt, stupid bloody tuesday.
Man, you been a naughty boy, you let your face grow long.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob.
Mister city policeman sitting
Pretty little policemen in a row.
See how they fly like Lucy in the Sky, see how they run.
I'm crying, I'm crying.
I'm crying, I'm crying.
Yellow mother custard, dripping from a dead dog's eye.
Crabalocker fishwife, pornographic priestess,
Boy, you been a naughty girl you let your knickers down.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob.
Sitting in an english garden waiting for the sun.
If the sun don't come, you get a tan
From standing in the english rain.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob goo goo g'joob.
Expert textpert choking smokers,
Don't you think the joker laughs at you?
See how they smile like pigs in a sty,
See how they snied.
I'm crying.
Semolina pilchard, climbing up the eiffel tower.
Elementary penguin singing Hari Krishna.
Man, you should have seen them kicking edgar allan poe.
I am the eggman, They are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob goo goo g'joob goo goo g'joob.
Goo goo g'joob goo _________________ ---------------------

I wrote this poem
A Glass Onion
Well, John, you must understand
I was a little girl then
behind walls of silence
at a remote town in the far East.
Skipping stones on a soundless river,
I have missed ripples of the outer world
for decades.
Now your loyal fans fill me in with your legends.
They regret that the ruthless bullet took your life.
Yet looking through a glass onion,
everything is still there, your music, your love.
and your Hello, Goodbye..
I cannot help but cry.
John, I have arrived-
not only in your songs, but also in your epic world.
Yet thirty years have passed,
I open an enormous clam,
no pearl left, neither Mr. Moonlight.
I cannot help but cry.
Through the strawberry fields,
upon the bent backed tulips
into the other half lives
the long and winding road
across the universe
love me do, love me do…
I see a fool on the hill
trying to make a dove-tail joint…
Looking through a glass onion,
everything is still there, your music, your love… _________________ ---------------------

Hello,Good Bye”
_________________ ---------------------
