I am glad to invite you to A Poetry Reading- A Tribute to P.K. Page. This event is sponsored by the League of Canadian Poets & Canadian Coucil for the Arts.
P.K. Page was a full-time member of the LCP and she was author of over 30 published books: ( poetry, fiction, essays…) Her poem "Planet Earth" was selected by the United Nations to read internationally. She won the Governor General's Award in 1954 for The Metal and the Flower. She was Officer of the Order of Canada and Companion of the Order. Her last collection, Coal and Roses, shortlist for the Griffin Poetry Prize.
Professor Richard Greene who taught in U of T (Mississauga Campus) Canadian Poetry in English Department and the winner of 2010 Governor General’s Literary Award for Poetry. He was glad to help this event and invited poets from the LCP to come to his class to read and do the presentation.
Since I am the member of the LCP and coordinator for this event in Mississauga, so I would like to invite you to join us for this Poetry Reading event. You are welcome to discuss poetry with professor and these students from English department.
Place: University of Toronto (Mississauga Campus) North Building Time: 11:00am to 1:00pm on Oct 20, 2011

I have talked with Mississauga Library Courtneypark branch manager about the event for P.K. Page. They are very glad to do this as a joint program with the League of Canadian Poets. So now we have booked the Courtneypark Program room on Sunday, December 4.
Time: Dec 4 (Sunday) 2:00pm to 4:00pm

I had book launch there in March this year and I was quite happy about the room's size and the location, very easy to find and has a lot parking place (free). So I think it could be a good place for this event as well.

We are glad to invite you to Mississauga's P.K.Page Poetry Reading Event. This reading sponsored by the League of Canadian Poets, Canadian Council for the Art is a joint event with Mississauga Library.
We are glad to have Richard Greene, Elana Wolff, Laura Lush, Honey Novick, Chery Xavier, Joice Andrew and Ann Carson joining us to read. We also have college students and artists from local groups and media (local newspaper, TV reporters…) coming.
Richard Greene will be the featured poet and his students may join us too. All poets on the reading list are welcome to read one of P.K.Page’s poem in their own languages, then read or tell their story of their own poetry. We will also have OPEN MIC period for additional readers.
It is always a wonderful experience to share our interests and connect to our communities. I hope this brings fresh, dynamic and warm readings toward our winter season. Please join us at
