Dear friends,

Since many friends asked if I have poems in both Chinese and English, so I made an eBook from my old chapbook "Farewell To Sunflowers" (2007) which is out of print. I would like to send this to you as a small gesture of my gratitude towards your support. These poems are my earlier poems, so you might see the developing process of my poetry journey. I don’t have too much time to revise them as I did for my new poetry book “Wings Toward Sunlight”. But I do have plan to publish a book length poetry book in Chinese and English later when I have enough time to revise and edit old and new poems. So this one is really a small gift and I hope you still enjoy it. Thanks a lot.

“Wings Toward Sunlight"的出版商Mosaic Press 不赞成诗歌做成eBook。所以没有书稿的网上preview。 所以我只做了《作别向日葵/Farewell to Sunflowers》ebook for fun...因为没有太多时间修改，所以早期诗歌很多还比较原始。。。 欢迎提建议和改进。

LOIS P. JONES’s poetry and photographs have been published in American Poetry Journal, Raven Chronicles, Qarrtsiluni, Rose & Thorn, Tiferet, and other print and on-line journals in the U.S. and abroad. She is co-founder of Word Walker Press and a documentarist of Argentina’s wine industry. Since 2008 she has hosted KPFK’s long-running radio series in Los Angeles, Poet’s Cafe (90.7 FM Pacifica Radio), produced by Marlena Bond. Lois co-produces Moonday West and is a co-host of Moonday’s east side poetry reading at Flintridge Books. She is the Poetry Editor of Kyoto Journal and a 2009/2010 Pushcart Nominee as well as a 2010/2011 nominee for Best New Poets. She is a frequent and grateful participant in the yearly San Miguel Poetry Week, co-founded by Jennifer Clement and Barbara Sibley. In 2010 her poem “Ouija” was selected as Poem of the Year by judge Dana Goodyear. Lois was featured in Prague as part of a poetry tour for “A Chaos of Angels.” In May of 2011 Lois co-featured with Pascale Petit in Los Angeles at Village Books.

我很开心收到Reid 的电邮。虽然他很忙很忙，但还是着手写我的“Wings Toward Sunlight” 书评。

一个月前也收到了 Lois 给我“Wings Toward Sunlight” 写的书评。Terry 和

我也要感谢Mosaic Press 寄了八本“Wings Toward Sunlight” 和参赛费用去参加加拿大的诗歌书评赛事，也寄去多本给美国高校的几个书目赛事。并一直问我还在不在写。。。他们表示希望支助我的第二本书。。。Terry 说我一直在写，现在方向和风格有变化，我也是这样考虑的，不急着出书。。。。“Wings Toward Sunlight” 我自己很满意，因为是正式签合同，有编辑，有市场定位，以及书的整体有比较一致的格局和风格。。。。当时在选诗的时候，考虑的比较全面。所以真正做好一本书并不容易。而且对出版商绝对是赔钱的生意。。。 好在加拿大艺术协会和安省艺术协会有些项目支助出版商和作家。。。不过照顾的也是很少量的了。。。。

Remembering Steve Jobs

I worked for Apple China 15 years ago. I really got interested in IT because of working in Apple. In 1999, I came to Canada and continued working as a java developer. I always love Steve's speeches which inspired me a lot. "Keep looking...follow your heart". Two years ago, my poetry book was accepted to be published by Mosaic Press and I would like to title my book "The Waiting Apple", it eventually changed to "Wings Toward Sunlight". I would like to think of Jobs Steve as the wings toward sunlight and remember his positive attitude and enormous strengths.
