Tonight, Jason had Table Tennis games. I brought my note book to write when he didn't like me to watch.

At the break, I asked Jason to challenge me to write short poems. He gave the title: Table Tennis Ball, and asked me to write. I told him, "It is not easy for me. You may write it Better than me." So jason smiled and began to take the task. Soon, he came up with four lines:

Hit it once,
it bounces back.
It never fears
though I cry in tears.

I knew he talked his own experience: fight back and don't give up. I was very glad. Sheree came and I showed her the poem and asked them to try another. At that time, I was asked to help to be Umpire.
So I suggested them to try to write a poem about Umpire.

Ten minutes later, each of them came up a poem. And we read the poems together. We all had fun.

Here are the poems.


My mom, the funny umpire

Umpires are not funny.
They count games: ping and pong
My mom tries to be one,
But it is not the same.

Sometimes she smiles.
Other times she frowns.
Once she lose count
in a close tie, oh my!

The crowd laughs
The people cheer.
They have much fun
when my mom is here.

Umpire

watches the ball,
as it soars through the air.
She must be fair,
or they'll all despair.

She counts the points,
as balls fly by,
and now- A winner!
My oh my.
