There is always some moment in our life we remember the most. There is always something determining our life eventually. In Jerry’s English classes, Jerry told a story which asked two interesting questions. The same two questions were asked of Jerry by his manager, Tom, in 2004 during his job as a sales manager in a telemarketing company. Tom told Jerry a story: Researchers asked students in Stanford University when the students had just started their first year.
The first question is: How many of you have a clear goal for your future?
The second question is: Have you ever written it down on the paper if you do have a clear goal?
Not surprisingly, to the first question, 50% of the students answered that they had a clear goal for their future, yet only 3% of them wrote it down.
Everyone guessed that after ten years, the 50% of the students who had a clear goal would be more successful than the others. But researchers found out that the 50% had almost the same outcomes as the others. Yet to the second question about writing down their goal, the 3% who wrote down the goal topped their earnings of alll the others.
Researchers used the same questions year after year, amazingly the same results turned up.
Tom asked Jerry to write down his goal. Tom’s intention was to motivate Jerry to be a more successful sales person. Ironically Jerry’s interest was not saling but teaching English. Yet he didn’t know how to start his new career.
In our lifetime, some of us always wait for opportunities. We try to find many excuses for not doing something or becoming someone.

Jerry said that one sentence in a book opened the door: Go for your passion, do not wait. If so, you will never find yourself ready.

Today Jerry has successfully finished his 99th session of English teaching and fulfilled his dream to make decent money through helping others and building their strength in learning.

Jerry's story makes me think. Jerry's questions wait for an answer.
As time goes by, I experience many good days and bad days. It was poetry that opened a new ecstatic world to me during my dark times. Like a bird, I grew wings towards sunlight. My passion is to be a poet who quests for beauty and love because those experiences and qualities fill our empty heart.
Most of us don’t know ourselves and hide behind masks. I was like that before. Luckily through reading I got connected to the world, through writing I got connected to myself. By that I knew who I was and what I wanted. In the book “Through Seasons of the Heart” by John Powell, S.J. which I have read lately, it says, "it is a fact that we cannot love others if we do not love ourselves. "
My goal is simply to love myself and others and to write about the beauty of love and the journey of life.
I know my goal is different from those of others - way different from the students in Stanford University. My goal could never be measured by money. But I am contented and glad to have the passion and to become loving of myself and others.
Robert Frost advised us not to build a wall until we know what we are walling in and what we are walling out. Among many natural disasters and human wars, I find that Love is the only way to our human destiny. The love in ourselves and in others strengthens us and shapes us. I know how powerful and beautiful love is. I want to share this e.e. cumming's poem here:

your slightest look
easily will unclose me
though i have closed
myself as fingers,
you open always petal
by petal
myself as Spring opens
(touching skillfully, mysteriously)
her first rose

e.e. cummings

I called Tery to ask his opinion about my classes. He asked me to continue. He said it took time to get the good result.
