Nowadays, this busy world,
becomes a barren land, thirsty for company.
We indulge in quick matches and blind dates.
Never to hear the nightingale’s singing,
we are trapped by the seduction
of mini icons and pirated videos.
The kiss, the smile, even the word
could be a fake one, from a fake person.

No real love like the one from the ancients,
to find its way to pursue the fruit from Eden,
no taste as their savoring scents and relishing juices,
no mood mesmerized by subtle feelings of truth.
No more delicate fire, let desire slowly burn;
love becomes a wild flame, a tangled web, a sinking hole.

Loneliness and helplessness oversize our crowded companies,
we duck our mind into stealing loves.
Yet no path to the love like the ancients,
where they stroll in their awaken expedition,
search their hidden untainted fountains
that lead a thorn journey with bittersweet wreath.

A golden Jug

I bought it from an outlet store,
five dollars in total to light up my gloomy place.

A round mouth brimmed with a golden line,
A curved handle elegant enough,
and skin colored with tulip patterns,
with inner face smooth and clean.
Still, it was in the long list of items:
for sale.

I asked the casher
what could I do with it?
She shot me a surprise look,
Well, pour juice, water
or just for decor.

Well, if I could find a right space.

a miracle. I awake from my nap speaking pefect Mandarin.

through the dusty wind
a fish’s eye stared into your drifting dream
water lilies creep in your pond


the kalediscope of images speak in several languages---including mine.

the more you think
the more it is like a rock
lying down, you feel the coldness


my translation:

the more you think about love,
the more it is like a rock,
and lying down, love feels cold.




as if you have locked spring
beneath your hair bun
and glued autumn on your face


With makeup and clever disguises,
I hide love, I paint autumn
on my face



the soon-to-be soiled ancient China


A Chinese woman soiled



through the dusty wind
a fish’s eye stared into your drifting dream

even the fish stare and words like water lilies
creep into your life.



you wish to enter the dim-lit cave
to find its flaming truth and burning tongues


you wish to live with the fire eaters,
the jugglers and misshapen,
to question all who have known pain.




night is quiet. Sleepless,
you cuddle its winter.


How quiet the nght, how long
to be sleepless, the cold
comes on, you stop thinking
and only cuddle


and so it seemed after my nap.
