An Undeliverable Valentine Card
I wish you could come
to read my poems
as I’m now reading yours
and bring your pruners
to trim each dead branch
I wish you could listen
to my readings
as I’m now listening to yours
and add your luring accent
to my monotonous voice
I wish you could look
into my eyes
as I’m now looking at yours
and feel my mind surging
like a spring river
But you’re gone
without leaving an address
the words I want to say to you
dropped to the deepest dream
you promised to haunt
.

Hi Lake.
Nice poem. I think you could give a little hint about his story or poem.
I like Leonard Cohen's song and also wrote him a poem...

Sometimes, we read poets' poem, we can fall love with them. _________________

Thanks anna for the read and link.
I must admit this was not well planned. Just wanted to get some heat vented out. When it's done, whether well done or poorly done, felt much better.
Here is one love poem by Kenneth Rexroth:
You ask me what I thought about
Before I met you.
The answer is easy.
Before I met you
I didn't have anything to think about.
There's no simile, no metaphor, no symbol, no reference, just simple ordinary language; but it strikes a cord with the reader (at least with me). |

Sometimes it's the simple ordinary language that moves us. An American poet recently said to me that she was kind of disappointed that American poetry had become more and more a "language poetry." Too many poets are just playing with words. |

谢谢非马先生的认同。 发自内心的最平实的语言其实是最感人的。 |
