Lately I read a novel about two kids quest for the meaning of life. It is a children book but it really surprised me by its wonderful imagination and wisdom.
It begins with the mysterious wood box which the boy’s (Jeremy) father prepared for him as his thirteen-year-old birthday gift. Jeremy’s father died when Jeremy was eight years old. That year, his father made the box and carved the words “meaning of life” on it.
When Jeremy got it five years later, he and his friend Lizzy couldn’t find the keys to unlock it. Thus they began their journey to quest the life of meaning.
They asked many people the question: What is the meaning of life? Why we are here?
They got various answers. They met a scientist. From him, they knew what we saw may never be the same as what we saw. We all know that what we see is the reflection of light. So thinking about a light year, when the image of a faraway star is finally formed in our eyes, the light may already travel a million years. So what we see is the past of the star. When we see it, it may not exist anymore. In this way, we only know the past of it, we never know its present and future. Also according to Big Bang theory, our solar system started as a big explosion. All thing in the universe is formed by tiny, tiny atoms etc. The whole universe is still expanding like a blowing air balloon; we are all inside the balloon. Why we are here? We are here because we are here. The chance of form of the solar system may never be the same as other unknown universe.
From Jeremy’s father’s letter, there is a story about the meaning of life. There are two wolves fighting in our body.
One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.
The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.
But which wolf will win? the one you feed. Our life is what we create. We choose which wolf to feed and this creates who we become and what our life is about. _________________ ---------------------

A interesting fable for the meaning and change of life.
