Shoes, secret face of my inner life:

Tonight, we were asked to take a look at ten lines which were the first line of each different poem, and tried to decide to using one line to start our own poem. (we were given five minutes in total).

I chose

Shoes, secret face of my inner life:

And wrote the above.


Next week, we will bring our poems to workshop.

Another exercise, our teacher read a poem and asked us to write down the words we liked. Then she asked us to use the words to make up a poem. So I wrote the following... not good, just practise.



The night news spreads out,
the heart of the sky
dives into the sea,
Stars pop out from its dark skin,
eager to join this night party.
But the day breaks through,
and pushes them aside.
He moves his Canvas to the front,
And invites the light
to paint.
trees, grasses and moss sparsely appear,
mountains sit around to observer.
The beach extends her arms
cradling waves upon waves.

The old pine surrendered to a fierce storm,
branches fell down all around our front yard.
I remember
You cuddled in daddy’s bed, and cried for a whole night.
The next morning, you and daddy rushed to the pine.
You made dad promise not to cut it down.
I remember
The pine survived and two rabbits made it out of their home.
I remember
you scattered crumbs nearby and waited for their return.
I remember
Sitting by your bed, one night after another,
White sheets sank my heart and you were too quiet and tired.
I remember
I followed many others to a hill, and watched them putting you down.
I remember
that night, the rabbits disappeared.
