Elka’s reading was very good and humorous too. She read a few love poems which she wrote in 1960 when she was in her youth. She laughed that we could imagine how crazy she was. I asked her permission to share one here for your reference.
Upgrade 1960
By Elka Ruth Enola
You are only
an hysterical nightmare
Soon forgotten
He kissed the sun with full true lips
And she comes up screaming red
He fondles the moon with soft brown fingers
And she radiates silver purity
He knows how to live
My god of love
He will cremate you
From Cuba With Love 1985
By Elka Ruth Enola
I bought you
Soft brown
Havana cigars
ggggg Remember me
When you suck
Their luscious warmth
And your tongue
Moves round
The moistened tips
Stroking
Sucking
ggggg Remember me
Elka read 10 more poems, some were sad, others were happy and amusing. I should record them but since on the stage, I didn’t want to disturb her reading, so I thought it was better to do it next time at her house.
Last time I did record some of readings and discussion at the house, but I edited them to only keep the readings. Eric and other friends suggested keeping the whole discussion next time. I agreed. It was very good and informative since the discussion really revealed
Each different view and culture. _________________

Good! I'm aroused by these lines. |
Me too.
I felt a greater proportion of sexual energy expressed through these lines which are employed as a metaphor for oral-genital sexual intercourse. _________________ I'm Champagne,

Hi Fanfan & Champagne
Yes. You are right. These are erotic poems. There is a theme night for this in April National Poetry Month on TOPS.
Sometimes I do write some of erotic poems which could read also in another way. Here are two of mine:
When Desire Awakens

As Piano
To invite your choir,
I lay down myself;
each inch of my skin
an echo.
When you touch,
listen
and remember
love songs never die. _________________

Champagne,
Sometimes it is fun to write different poems. _________________

When Desire Awakens
I halt and listen--
to each thin leaf
and falling dew
lilac dangles up the slope
and shadows beckon the moon
zephyr harps on the lake
and ripples draw gentle notes
your orchard unveils
its reddish ripeness
and a gleamy trail
looms in deep woods
before a nightingale sings,
I fall for evening primrose.
I like the way the human desire is expressed through the nature metaphor, which is in the form of blooming flowers and singing birds. _________________ Time is nothing but a disquiet of the soul |
