Haha! Funny!!! I am older than you, but I am not old........

Although I am not a big fan of Mr Marr's poetry, but majority of his poems are definitely better than yours at this moment of time. You (including myself) still have a lot of work to do in order to be successful.

As well, you can't judge a poet by reading only 2 or 3 poems. You need to analysis his works against his background and his life. For example, in order to understand American Poetry, you need to understand American culture. In order to understand fully Traditional Chinese Poetry, you need to study Chinese history and related life in the ancient time. A better example would be for me to understand Chinese poetry of the "Blurry" style, I need to understand the history of Cultural Revolution.

Poetry is not just about how beautiful the words are, nor it is about melody and music. If so, classical poetry is always going to be better than modern poetry. Along the same line, paintings done during the Renaissance are always going to be better than modern abstract painting, because the ability to capture the object realistically. But we need to ask ourselves one question: If art is about creativity, why do we need to place a boundary to it?

Also, some of the classical poetry done by ancient Chinese such as Li Bao or Do Fu, are in fact murmur of old men. They use poetry as a media to express their sadness or helplessness about their own lives. Try to translate some of the classical poetry into today's language, and you will agree with me.

Lastly, your 3 small poems may have rhymed, but they lack an important element -- soul.
