Michel Pleau’s Eternity Taking its Time, translated by Howard Scott, Bookland Press, 2012. Michel Pleau was Canada’s Parliamentary poet from 2012-2014. The original Lenteur du monde won the Governor General Award for French Language Poetry in 2007.

For something as interesting visually as it is textually, try "Notebook M" by Gillian Savigny (Insomniac, 2012) which won the 2012 Lampert award. It's a poetic response to Charles Darwin's Notebook M, written during his voyage on the Beagle.
Also, "I Alone Escaped to Tell You" by Sylvia Hamilton, which was nominated for the JM Abrahams Award (formerly the Atlantic Poetry Prize), is an exploration of the lives of African-Canadians from the 18th C slave trade to today. It also plays with the page in interesting ways.

I would like to recommend the new quartet of poetry books from Frontenac House Calgary--see website www. frontenachouse.com and I am one of the poets, Cassy Welburn, with Changelings, a book of storytelling and poetry marking the life changing events of a life. Also, Clockwork, by Zaid Shla, on the perspective of an exile in Canada and the world, poetry and essays. Also, Niche, by Basma Kavanaugh, a poet who speaks with the voice of the earth in the time of climate change. Finally, Two Minds, by Harold Reneisch, who writes in a form called gaiselles, (couplets) to explore two sides of everything, especially of ourselves.

I'd like to recommend 2 books: the first collects my favourite poets from across Canada, and the second collects my own poetry. Since neither is easily available in China, I am attaching pdf's of both books, and am happy to have them read by the students and professors at Nanjing U, and used in courses. If someone is going to reprint or translate, I would like to be informed for my permission (which I will be happy to give), since I hold copyright on them both.
