The Moon Room

the room is on the 77th floor
filled with stone:
smooth or rough, sharp or round
each has a unique beauty

Sitting in a bamboo chair, you pour
two cups of green tea,
in silence, this room is an anchored boat.

Raising a cup, you slowly
sip the tea…
the boat sails

Now the room is empty
An autumn moon illuminates
the way and leads me
to your sealed bookshelf

No more a dragon lady lifting
a cup of tea, lips slightly parted
only you ride on a bus
somewhere
with strangers on and off
