Something grows in my sister’s brain,
It must have been there for long, the doctor suspects.

I 'm not a doctor nor a scientist,
my instinct knows better.
Twenty years ago, when I was still a girl,
I trekked a long way to a deserted island
to search for her missing husband,
and returned with grave advice:
file for divorce.

But my sister refused.
With a broken heart,
She brought up their daughter alone.
Pain stabs her lonely nights
and hibernates in the day time
when her busy routine takes over.

Everyone praises her,
a good wife, a great mother, a wonderful person.
Only I know her bitter smile too familiar.

Oh, sister,
Love yourself,
No shame about that.
There are many ways to live.
There is other light to glow.
But she leaves loves to us
and the broken pieces

slowly
