I'm afraid you won't see The Poetry Institute of Canada mentioned on any of these sites.

Beware, beware of any "publishing" organization that makes you buy the anthology they put you in. Yes, some of these organizations do deliver on the book promise (that you paid for), but have a look at how it's laid out. Is the font size so small it's barely readable? Is there more than one poem on the page? A lot of these companies will also offer to put your poem on a mug or a wall plaque or a scroll, all of which you have to buy.


This isn't to be confused with legit litmags that run contests that have entry fees, by the way. Typically, the entry fee will get you a year's subscription to the magazine, so even if you don't win or place you'll be able to read the work of those who did, plus you'll get an idea of the sort of writing these magazines publish which will give you a sense of where your own poems or stories may best fit.
