小曼好。。。最近很忙。出版商已正式接受出版我的英文诗集。很开心出版费用和销售他们负责！

书名他们建议改一个，从我自己的诗歌中找一句。另外再增加30首。所以现在还忙着选稿和改稿，九月他们会做书目推广和预售。明年二月提交。赶在我明年回国前出来。

Write Me

Write me letters.
Salt me with crazy words.
Let them yeast
over your tongue
rising like—
flaming stars,
flapping birds,
and dangling seaweeds
from deep oceans.

Write me over
and over
like they did in the old movies:
red wine smearing waiting lips,
a cat leaps for cover when rain starts to pour—
we blur into one another
and kiss.

The Bodhi Tree

Travelling to the far East,
I meet a Bodhi tree,
beside a river, huge leaves
and green.

I puzzle,
Are you here waiting?
A sudden shower.

The foghorn from a ferryboat calls,
winds flip the Bodhi’s leaves.

I weep,
I must go.
What could I carry away?

Upon my palms,
the tree frees its seeds.

I left a poem unfinished

I left a poem unfinished
It began on
No. 38 Bus at Square One.
I got on and off on a daily route,
punctually like a wound clock.

I had fumbled to finish the line,
till I noticed the rain pouring
and you were on the other end.
The period refused to settle.
It was like a black bird
urging to fly out—
begging to turn around
to where it began.

A Chinese Nightingale

From this window,
it is a patch of sky, up high, a cloud floating.
Beneath its shadow, poplar trees
stand tall in rows; leaves already fallen,
thin branches frame tiny grids.

Inside: cold like an abandoned well,
deep, moldy. Winds blow in
and dangle empty webs.

By the window,
the bird sings his only song,
his voice drained like rustling leaves.

I approach, palms baited with
golden grains.
Come, take some.
I coo.

He turns.
I catch my own shadow,
too heavy to lift.

Why Hesitate?

We talk about twilight.
Voices find resonance
falling on a rainy night.
They echo a rock’s reply,
like fish leaping out of a river.

The door opens and closes;
we listen to bread and toaster sizzling,
as a love puzzle feeding our still life.

River flows in me.
Like a hooked fish,
I listen to the tide’s message.
The tea grows cold.

I fear to offer
anything
for what appears to be an apple,
may taste like a lemon.

I am not sure if I have time to come to book club or not, but I do have a good news to share with you; My new poetry book was accepted to publish by a local formal publisher. They will do all the design and print and distribute with their expense. They thought my book worthy their effort.
I am glad that finally I need not worry about self-publishing.

我一直想以后有时间写诗歌背后的故事。也一直想除了写，还开展各种形式的交流。

昨天收到读书俱乐部的来信，说等我的书出来，会选做她们的讨论书目。

CHA 主编也希望review 我的书。她的诗评写得很好。值得我学习。
