In my view, Mr. Barker doesn't fully explore the potentials of the second theme, 'the Voice of the Silence,' of his essay and ends it suddenly with a quote from Madame Helena Blavatsky. _________________ I'm Champagne,

I agree with you.
I’m little surprised by the unequal narrative space, which is more than 80% of the content of the eaasy, allocated to the socio-political context in which the People’s Poetry tradition was situated.
I think Mr. Barker need to elaborate more on the second theme of his essay.

In my view, Mr. Barker seems to neglect Livesay’s Christian upbringing.
In her landmark poetry book which is divided into three distinct yet overlapping sections ( ‘Poems of Childhood,’ ‘Poems for People,’ and ‘Poems as Pictures’), we can easily find a common thread running throughout the book, or at least the first two sections-- her reflection on human suffering and the traditional notion of the suffering Christ. She has a most inviting and meditative piece on the suffering Christ, "Inheritance." _________________ Time is nothing but a disquiet of the soul |

After I finished reading Mr. Barker’s essay, I’ve one question about which I would like to ask him:
Should existentialism be seen in the atheistic terms of Sartre or the religious terms of Kierkegaard? Could both coexist under the name of existentialism? _________________ 報三恩、耕三大福田 |

In my view, Mr. Barker's sweeping critique of existentialism stems mainly from his disdain for Sartrean atheistic, bleak existentialism, which is just one, though influential, among many schools of existentialist philosophy.
But, no matter which school of existentialist philosophy one belongs to, existentialism vitally concerns itself with the "dreadful freedom in the face of its tragic vision of human life" and with the dignity of the individual person, and it emphasizes that a sense of being-in-the-world, of "thrownness' has placed man in the unique position of being challenged to live authentically in an ‘absurd world.’ _________________ Time is nothing but a disquiet of the soul |
