This is the exercise of 20 minutes in the workshop.

Ken asked us to write a poem with 4 items:
place, time, an animal, a character to show the movement of time or emotion.

At first, I was not sure which animal to choose, Snake, cat, owl ...
until the snake lingered in my mind. But how to make it alive and how to write an interest and challenge poem, I almost gave up. Last night, lying on the bed, I wrote this.

I showed it to my mentor: Ken Babstock. He liked it and thought it good.
He made a little change and I revised it again.

After he read this, I asked if he got it. He read it again and got it. There is a hint in the title and the poem too, I hope others can understand this poem.

An interesting poem. But I don't quite get the meaning of the following line:

as a coil of brush stokes.

Also, shouldn't the title be "The Last Apple on the tree"? Or maybe I miss something.

About the title, yes, it should be ön the tree.

A coil of brush stokes is the hint for the whole poem:

She is staring at a painting and visualizes the story about the last apple.
The snake in the painting titled "the last apple on the tree"
reminds her of her dream and her conflict inner world - to take the apple or not?
