Dance of the Peacock: A Collection of Poems by Cheryl Antao-Xavier
23rd May, 8.15 pm at the Masonic Lodge, 11 Thomas Street, Streetsville, Ontario.


Mississauga poet Cheryl Antao-Xavier will launch her first collection of poems entitled ‘Dance of the Peacock’ on May 23, 2008 at the Masonic Lodge, 11 Thomas Street in Streetsville, Mississauga. The book launch will take place during the Streetsville Arts Fest inauguration ceremony. The evening’s program runs from 7 pm to 10 pm and the book launch is scheduled for 8.15 pm.

Admission, refreshments and parking (at the GO station) are free.

Poet Bio:
Cheryl Antao-Xavier has been writing poetry for over 20 years. Her poems are vignettes of the human experience that capture the trials and angst of people in transition and women in subjugation, painted against a vivid landscape of the Indian sub-continent.

Antao-Xavier is a poet, writer and playwright based in Mississauga, Ontario. She is the Chair of the Peel-region branch of the Canadian Federation of Poets, and a member of The Ontario Poetry Society and Mississauga Arts Council.

Dance of the Peacock is her first collection of poems and is published through her company In Our Words, in association with A Type of Magic.
