another view:
I never saw a discontented tree. They grip the ground as though they liked it, and though fast rooted they travel about as far as we do. -John Muir, naturalist, explorer, and writer (1838-1914)

A slang a day (30 wig out
Definition: To go crazy; to lose your mind.
Example: 1) Maria wigged out when she found her husband in bed with her best friend.
2) I hope Tom doesn't wig out when we tell him we lost his dog.
Etymology: The idea behind the term is that so much activity is going on in your brain that your hair (a 'wig' is artificial hair) might jump off your head. The term can be positive too - you might 'wig out' when you hear really good music, for example.
Synonyms: lose your cool, flip your wig _________________

2) Most Sylvester Stallone movies stink to high heaven -- they're just terrible!
Etymology: If something 'stinks', it smells bad. 'High heaven' refers to the clouds up in the sky. The idea here is that something is so bad, either to the nose or to the mind, that even the angels who live way up in the clouds are offended.
hog
Definition: To selfishly claim all of something; to eat or take everything.
Example: 1) Peter was hogging the food like he hadn't eaten in days.
2) Nicolas, don't hog the computer! Other people want to use it too.
Etymology: A 'hog' is literally a pig, and pigs are famous for selfishly consuming their food. As slang, the term can be used to describe any kind of selfish behavior.
Definition: One who is selfish.
Example: 1) Share with your brother - don't be such a hog!
Synonyms: pig _________________
