不错 Not Bad

like “what is this dong dong 东东” was
used to prevail the internet language
‘not bad’ or 不错 becomes fashionable
as a comment to a post
economical, convenient, and neutral
no reason commenters not love
using it. ‘not bad’ to a novice
‘not bad’ to someone with
a few years of experience
‘not bad’ to a prestigious poet

does it carry the same implication
at all times, in all circumstances?
is it of praise, encouragement
or just ‘ok’ or ‘not good enough’?
WHAT is not bad? its content,
language, form, idea, subject… ?

Oh, what a beauty of the language!

anyway, I find it so easy to use
and am inclining to use it. but
not bad, not bad, not bad…
‘not bad’ drives me nuts

A Joke


So this is what poetry, this dong-dong is about
I can’t comment on your poem as not bad, but
I think boo-grass is close to how I feel
A little excitement in life mostly don’t kill

Depends how I get it
It could be not bad at all
It could be not bad after all
It could not not bad, but BAD

And then what do you expect
From this shrewd, dirty old pen

Anyhow, if you find it easy to use
And intend to use it, remember
Though it ain’t killing
It is hell as addictive as a ghost
Frequenting a house with a puff

Sometimes I am busy
Sometimes I am free
In between, there's it
Until I find thee...
