The Dancing Girl
The dancing girl dangles in the moonlight,
like a wounded swan fighting against the wind.
her wings flapping, flapping-
balance on a lonely limb.
A sad smile appears on her pale face,
a few tears drop, then more
stream down.
How wrong is she
to think all drained –
in the debris where she was dug out,
among her pleadings to keep her leg?
The sky has witnessed -
the rain fell and fell,
she lay like a lifeless fish.
The wind has cried
for her drifting in the dark,
grieving as an orphan.
But warm voices constantly call upon her,
love waves cradle the shore of her mind.
Tear floods again;
thrilling, she find her way to dance.
