What happened to you?
After summer break, our Oakville TOPS event resumed. Last Saturday I went to Elka’s house again for poetry reading and critique. It was another wonderful time. Josie’s “What shaped my poems” introduced us a few poets from Italy since she stayed her childhood there. Then she told her stories about how poetry influenced her when life changed. We also discussed our poems and shared feedback. My new friend David enjoyed it too. He would like to do next topic “the development of blank verse”. He started writing for four years and took a few poetry courses on University of Toronto. I felt relieved that he liked the event. Before we left Elka’s house, Elka hugged each of us, and said to me, “You look terrific! What happened to you? ” I smiled and felt happy.
A few weeks ago, I met Craig who was a scientist and met me before for many times since two years ago to discuss poetry. After his trip to China recently, he said to me, “You look different.” I asked, “Younger?”
“Ye, more like Chinese now.” I smiled. That day I wore Beijing Olympics sportswear.
After we chatted for two hours, he said to me: “I feel you are more peaceful.”
True. Those people who happened not seeing me for half year or so, all feel me in a different mood or a peaceful stage.
What happened? Very simple: Letting go, letting go …
I think it is better being this way and sometimes we do have a choice to make our life a difference.
