Success Strategies: Thoughts from Mother Teresa

星期五 九月 12, 2008 11:01 am

Each month, I receive emails from Jack Canfield, the powerful life and career coach. I subscripted his email group for long time; the initial reason was not for my career or wish of success purpose, but for curiosity and a channel to be open-mind. I found myself drawn by dynamic creativity and various thoughts of these writers or speakers.
Though most time, I don’t have much time to read the detail message, I skim them for unique and bold statement.
Today, I read it through because I am interested in the title and the Quotation inside.
Mother Teresa, internationally famed humanitarian and advocate for the poor, once said "There is more hunger for love and appreciation in this world than for bread."
Jack takes “appreciation” as the wonderful tool for Success Strategy. In his words, it is a door to open the world, to connect people. But many of us lack the habit to appreciate others. We take grant of the helps and support from our family, our friends. To help Jack develop his habit, he made a rule for himself at the beginning. He had a checkmark card in his pocket and every day he would like to appreciate ten people. For each he did, he made a check. So after six months, he needed no more cards to remind him. He developed his habit and made his world more successful and made others’ happier.
For me, I would like to take this to make my life and others’ life happier and more enjoyable.
From today on, I would like to count how many appreciation I make, and also ask Jason to follow the pattern. I know it is not easy for us to do that. I will give a try.

Thank you, Jack.
