Poets in Schools

I was very glad to receive an invitation from Dovercourt Public School to read my poems and help students in Learning about advanced Haiku. A full day reading as Poets in Schools.
Poetry is a wonderful means to show students the magic of language and the power of imagination. Haiku is the great tool to connect our younger readers with Nature and open their mind to see more, experience more.
Mostly I will combine vivid images and computer skills to make my readings more interesting and easier to follow. I will share with them some stories about how to write haiku. I will also leave them fun writing excises to try. Thanks Dovercourt Public School, the LCP. (poets.ca) and Ontario Arts Council.
