The Bodhi Tree

Travelling to the far East,
I meet a Bodhi tree.
Beside a river, huge leaves
and evergreen.
I ask,
Are you here waiting for me?
A sudden shower.
I puzzle,
Are you crying?
This time, still.
I wait
and wait.
Winds flip Bodhi’s leaves.
I say,
I need to go.
What do you want me to carry away?
On my palms,
the tree lets go seeds.
