The flowers in my vase

The flowers in my vase
spread dense scent tonight.
They were picked up along a trail,
With name unknown.
They bloom in my glass for weeks,
Only tonight, when I sit down,
I notice where the aroma comes from.
I don’t know if they too wait for someone,
their fragrance gets fading and faint.
Sooner or later, they will be plucked out
and dumped to decay, Alas,
their scent who will bear in mind?
Yet tonight, I gaze at them,
Inhaling their silent sharing,
grateful to be with them
In this moment, and witness their beauty
before it is too late.
