I read poems to you,
most of them written for others.
I diligently work on words
to build a world and an intimate life
out of the steel cage –
Sometimes for fish, birds or trees ;
Other times for an invisible friend
or myself.
You listen,
line by line,
to shape a rainbow
and remove the worm.
Whenever I receive praises,
I remember each of them
grows the tribute to you.
