In response to some of the technical questions raised by Lake in his post entitled 关于 English Garden 栏目:

“加精有无标准？
是否作为斑竹就有权在自己的作品前随意插旗？
是否得到过发表的作品都应加精？”

As one of so-called “moderator(s)” of English Garden, I can speak only for myself:

For anyone who is interested in getting a little red flag put beside the subject line of one’s post, the golden rule is simple: getting your poems published in an accredited journal.

Winner of the Flannery O'Connor Award for short fiction, Under the Red Flag features twelve stories which take place during China's Cultural Revolution--stories which display the earnestness and grandeur of human folly and, in a larger sense, form a moral history of a time and a place. Few months ago, Lake introduced our readers to its author’s lecture on immigrant literature, and he/she got a little flag. Now, under the new rule, nevermore!
