Jason has dreamt for pets for a long time. He told me that his friends all had pets, some doggy, others birds, cats etc. Why could he have? I told him, “Yes. You can. But remember that it is your responsibility to feed and bath them.” I had pets when I was young and I knew how much joy they could bring to a child. Mine was rabbits and I even made some money from them. They were long-fur ones and every a few months I cut their fur in exchange of some money. I asked Jason if he was ready to take care of his pets. He waved his head. That was a few months ago.
A few weeks ago, we bought gold fish for him, or for us. It is an easy task, you may think. Yes, this was also our first thought. But when you start to have them, you know there are a lot of things to do, such as feeding, cleaning, changing water and decorating the tank. But all in all, it is a very good experience.
Jason even learnt a few science tricks. His dad taught him how to change the water, how to catch the fish and how to signal the feeding time. The fish bring much joy to all of us. I guess for summer we will soon all go out for fishing. How wonderful it is to let the real life and nature teach kids.
It also teaches them to respect other creatures. I always hope my kid learn with a natural way and in a joyful mood. I believe it will develop his peaceful mind too.
Now I find many kids are very hype and they are too focusing on themselves. I hope with pets they know more about others and the nature.

I will ask Jason to write a short essay for his gold fish and take picture for them too.

I know he will be glad to do it in his way and post in coviews.

Two months ago, he wrote "Sound of Music" and posted it in my blog.
He asked a few questions and even wanted to give some books for the first three correct replies. He was excited to wait for the answers those days and surprised at no reply. I told him some people were shy or may not watch the show or just wanted to give others chance to win prize.

But the good thing is there are hundreds reading your writing and they knew "Sound of Music" was a good show because of you. So they thank you!
