I was notified by Ms. Wendy K. Burgess, Managing Editor of the forthcoming anthology of verse entitled Island Treasures which is scheduled to be published in January 2009, that my poem, Lamentation: My Mother's Lullaby, has been chosen by the editorial committee to be included in Island Treasures, and that my poem will now go forward into the final competition to be judged in winter 2008/2009.

As for two versions of your poem, semantically and structurally speaking, I don't see big differences between these two versions.
